Ancient traditional art of making Rangoli designs is based on pattern making and repetition of design around an axis point.These designs are created during festivals such as Holi , Deewali ,Onam and during celebrations.The design is created by hand using various colors created at home.But nowadays the readymade patterns are available in the market for sale.These patterns are easy to draw.There have been many artists who like to create rangoli by hand.They did not use any scale but still the design generated by them looks balanced and proportionate.The designs generally used by the artists are folk designs.These folk designs have been transferred from generation to generation.Rangoli is a sanskrit word meaning row of colors.
